Each village has something unique to offer. Dhumalwadi (धुमाळवाडी) is a one day picnic spot. Go on Phaltan Girvi Road towards Girvi. Cross Nirgudi, Dhudhebavi, before Girvi the left turn to Dhumalwadi. Enter Dhumalwadi from a small Ghat. The scenery immediately changes from village to beautiful greenery. Park vehicles in village keep going inside the hills. The small road goes through the small river, water flow. No need to climb on hills. You will keep going till the waterfall. The route to waterfall from dhumalwadi was very scenic in rainy season only, giving you wonderful views all along the way. You have to no need to climb to reach the main view. You will be able to see the fall. The walk is short. So, the best time would be right in the middle of the monsoon. There are actually more than two falls. Visible from the view point. One can get a frontal view of the main fall. You have to continue in the same direction for another 100 Meters until you reach the hill/mountain, where the road seems to end. If you proceed further you will read to Kund. Overall, it was a very good one day trip covering two waterfalls and trekking and drive up to phaltan.

या घाटाचा घाटमाथ्यावरील भाग पुणे जिल्ह्यात तर घाटातील मुख्य भाग हा ठाणे जिल्ह्यात येतो.पुरातन काळापासून प्रसिद्ध असलेला महाराष्ट्रातील एक घाट. हा राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग २२२ वरील घाट आहे.

आकाशाला भिडलेल्या उत्तुंग कड्यांवर कोसळणारा मुसळधार पाऊस आणि शुभ्र खळखळत फेसाळत येणारे धबधबे, हिरव्या गालिच्यांवर हळुवार सरकणाऱ्या दाट ढगांची गर्दी, त्यातून वळणे घेत मधेच बोगद्यात जाणारा रस्ता हे अनुभवायचे असेल तर नगर - कल्याण रस्त्यावरच्या माळशेज घाटात जायलाच हवे. जिथे घाट रस्ता सुरू होतो तिथे दरीत घुसलेल्या एका पठारावर पर्यटकांच्या सोयीसाठी एमटीडीसीचे रिझॉर्ट आहे. जवळच खुबी गावाजवळ पिंपळगांव धरणाचा सुंदर जलाशय आहे.

Located around 130Kms North-East of Pune and around 150 Kms South-East of Mumbai, Malshej Ghat lies in the Pune District and is one of the best places to visit during monsoons, the road itself turns heavenly and provides some breathtaking views.

Best time to visit here is from mid-July to mid-September.

माळशेज घाट कल्याण नगर रस्त्यावर माळशेज घाट आहे. आतापर्यंत पावसाळी पर्यटनस्थळ म्हणून हे प्रचलित असले तरी लवकरच महाबळेश्वर व माथेरानप्रमाणेच एक बारमाही थंड हवेचे ठिकाण म्हणून विकसित होत आहे. पावसाळ्यात दाट धुक्याची शाल पांघरलेला हा डोंगर द-याचा परिसर पर्यटकांना वेड लावतो. आता घाटात पर्यटकांसाठी खास पॉइंटकेले जात आहेत.पर्यटकांच्या वाहनांसाठी रस्त्यावर दोन ठिकाणी खास पार्किंग व्यवस्था केली आहे. एम.टी.डी.सी. व वन विभागाने घाट परिसरात विकासकामे हाती घेतली असूनत्यातून पर्यटकांना सोयी उपलब्ध करून दिल्या जात आहेत.
